Coorg (coffee estate of India)

Image
If you want to see the misty mountains, low height clouds and colours of vegetation then go to coorg. Its on western ghats where every plant has its own distinguished hue. You can go by public transport as well as by booking a cab from mangaluru. I would rather suggest to go by personal vehicle or by cab because there are roadside waterfalls, fields of rubber, coffee and cardamom plants. Coffee of coorg is of best quality in the world because it grow in the shaded place. So it has a unique taste and more than 80% of coorg coffee exports every year to U.S. and European countries. Home Stay- I always perfer to book a home stay over hotels because by that you get an opportunity to live in an authentic place. Airbnb is always a best option for that. So we booked nature's bounty place. https://www.airbnb.co.in/rooms/19812874?adults=0&children=0&infants=0&toddlers=0&s=TLou_b_K . It was approx. 20kms from Madikeri(known as coorg)But go some extra miles you will get to s...

Konkan railway

Image
it's all about Konkan railways. I had heard about it from my Maharastrian friends. But trust me I have never even googled it (who searches about railway). Now I need to go to Mangaluru and I chose a train journey rather than booking a flight. it took my life's 43 hours away from me. Earlier I was half-hearted about this journey but trust me after Panvel station(Mumbai) the landscapes changed totally and then all of a sudden the journey turned from a regular to picturesque because rainfall started and the view from the window was making me spellbound.  There were many rivers pass through the track but Jagbudi river goes parallel to railway track and it makes journey alluring. Konkan railway covers total distance of 738 kms. from Mumbai to Mangaluru and three states Maharastra, Goa and Karnataka . Until the Konkan railway started its operations two important port cities Mangaluru and Mumbai were not directly connected by the railway network. People would travel by t...

Glare of Lakes

I went to Udaipur(The city of lakes) in july in a group of 5 people. Best time to go there is during winter and rainy seasons. try to avoid travelling there during summers. it was a one day trip for Udaipur, next day i went to Haldighati, nathdwara and kumbhalgarh. but here i will tell you about Udaipur trip. I live in Delhi so i took a night train to reach there in the early morning. There are plethora of hotels which you can search on booking sites but if you want to live in a rajasthani theme based home then book an AIRBNB stay they have amazing homes in a reasonable price. our hotel was near to Jagdish temple in the centre of city so by that arrangement we had a delight to see the Jagdishji's sawari in the night. So these are the places i visited in one day:- 1. Sajjangarh- That was near to city center we reached here by an auto rickshaw. There is a monsoon palace and a zoological park. I went to monsoon palace. it is on the top of the hill with a ticket of 60 INR. we took a...
